Skills Trades College of Canada invites applications for the Scottie Barnes Scholarships for BIPOC for the 2022/23 academic session.
If you’re interested in the trades, a college program is a great place to start working toward your career. Not only will you learn from skilled and experienced tradespeople, but you’ll also benefit from a network of industry connections that can lead to apprenticeships and jobs.
Worth of Award
This year, Scottie will kick it off by choosing 4 students for a full-ride scholarship valued at $20,000.
Winners of the scholarship will:
- Be invited to a Raptors Game in the fall, attend a meet-and-greet with Scottie Barnes and receive a signed Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors Jersey.
- Choose their campus: Toronto East, Vaughan, Mississauga, Ajax.
- Choose their course: Electrical, Plumbing, Home Renovation & Smart Home Wiring.
Eligibility
As an eligible candidate, you must
- Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Have completed High School or Equivalent
- Be between 18-30 years of age
- Identify as a visible minority (BlPOC)
How to Apply
Your application should include the following:
- Talk about Yourself
- Why you deserve the Scottie Barnes Scholarship
- What your plan is once you complete the course
- 30 – 90 seconds in length
To enter,
- Fill out for application form and submit your video to be reviewed privately
- Post your scholarship video on Instagram or TikTok and 1) tag @stc_canada, 2) DM with your Basic Info.
- Email Scottie at [email protected] with a link to your video and your basic info.
- Text Scottie on 647-869-80.53 with your video and basic info. (Keep it 100. Inappropriate submissions will be discarded)
