BIEA invites applications for the BIEA Postdoctoral Writing Grants in Humanities and Social Sciences in Eastern Africa in 2022.
This writing grant provides a modest stipend for the completion and submission of a high impact publication to Azania: Archaeological Research in Africa or the Journal of Eastern African Studies, and a blog for the BIEA website, based on the results of the PhD research.
The writing grant covers the period of three months, to be completed between the beginning of August 2022 and the end of January 2023. Applicants must be able to confirm that they are only working a maximum of 15 hours per week in other employment during the time they are receiving the writing grant.
Worth of Award
The writing grant stipend is £1,200 per month for three months, at the end of which the paper must be submitted to the relevant journal.
These writing grants are for several scholars
who have successfully completed doctoral research within the last 2 years,
within the disciplines of humanities and social sciences in eastern Africa.
