The Bill H James Foundation invites applications for the Bill H James Foundation Scholarship Fund for aspiring African American Engineers in the USA for the 2023/24 academic session.
The awards aim to impact the lives of deserving students throughout California. This explains why the undergraduate and graduate scholarships are one of a kind and have continuously changed the lives of those who have benefited from its support.

Scholarships will be awarded annually and award amounts may vary annually.
Eligibility
Eligible candidates must

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must be African American/Black (non-Hispanic)

Undergraduate students must be entering their Junior or Senior year of study during the 2023-2024 academic year and must carry a minimum of 12 units per semester/quarter

Graduate students must have a minimum of two academic semesters or one year left complete his/her Master’s degree during the 2023-2024 academic year and must carry a minimum of 8 units per semester/quarter

Must have a minimum of 3.2 GPA

Must be pursuing a degree or course of study in an engineering program at an accredited four-year college or university in the state of California

- one to two-page essay (double-spaced) outlining an engineering project you would want to develop. Explain how increasing diversity within the engineering profession would improve your project. Demonstrate how your academic potential and leadership would help achieve this project.
