2014-2015 Australian Heart Foundation PhD scholarships are now open for applications. The Heart Foundation Health Professional Scholarships complement other PhD funding sources by strategically providing support for the development of cardiovascular research capacity in under-represented areas of expertise.
The award provides the opportunity for applicants to return to the main PhD stream after a number of non-academic years and apply to other PhD scholarship schemes for funding.
The Health Professional Scholarship encourages health professionals to undertake a PhD in an area of cardiovascular research and actively apply evidence-based practice in order to develop the skills required to translate and implement research evidence into practice. It will also help them become more competitive for subsequent PhD awards.
Priority funding will be provided to health professionals working in cardiovascular healthcare, including allied health professionals, to further develop Australia’s cardiovascular health research capacity and encourage evidence-based health practice and research translation.
