FMoPA International Photography Competition in the United States in 2021

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) invites applications for the FMoPA International Photography Competition in the United States in 2021.

Images for the FMoPA competition will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and as otherwise determined by the judges. For each category, three winners will be selected after which an overall winner will be selected from all submitted photographs.

Each winning submission will be printed for exhibition in the FMoPA Community Gallery. Winning submissions are also granted permission for full use by FMoPA including the sale of the work, use of the work for promotional purposes, and/or use of the work for marketing.

The People’s Choice winner will be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA.

Worth of Award

Best in Competition:

  • $1,000 cash (as selected by the judges)
  • Consideration for a public art exhibition on billboard
  • Group exhibition at FMoPA
  • Consideration for a solo exhibition at FMoPA

First Prize:

  • $100 value in goods and services (as selected by the judges)
  • Consideration for a public art exhibition on billboard

Third Prize:

  • Consideration for a public art exhibition on billboards
  • Group exhibition at FMoPA

Eligibility

The following categories will be featured in the FMoPA International Photography Competition:

  • People/Portraits
  • Places/Landscape/Drone
  • Nature/Science/Animals
  • Documentation/Photojournalism
  • Still Life
  • Abstract Photography
  • Conceptual Photography

How to Apply

Submissions for each category will follow this format:

  • Biography with up to 1500 characters
  • Country of residence
  • First name
  • Last name

Upload

  • 1 to 3 images per submission
  • File type must be JPG
  • At least 3000px on the long edge
