Applications are currently being accepted for the UN Geneva Graduate Study Programme for international students in Switzerland in 2021.

The United Nations Information Service’s Graduate Study Programme (GSP) is the longest-running educational programme of the United Nations. Now in its 59th year, the GSP has trained thousands of youth from over 100 countries.

The 59th Graduate Study Programme will be held at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland from Monday, June 28 to Friday, July 9, 2021. And the GSP theme for 2021 will be: “Post-COVID World: Reset, Resilience, Recovery.”

Worth of Award

The seminar provides an opportunity for participants to

  • Deepen their understanding of the United Nations System and the International Geneva through first-hand observations, research, etc.
  • Receive lectures given by representatives of the United Nations and other Geneva-based organizations.
  • Visits to Geneva-based institutions.
  • Daily work in working groups under the guidance of expert moderators.

Eligibility

It is important to note that to be eligible for this programme,

  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Working knowledge of French is also needed as several sessions and discussions may be held in French.
  • Applicants must be between 22 and 33 years of age at the time of application.
  • They must be enrolled in a master’s degree programme or a postgraduate degree programme at the time of application.
  • Of equal importance is the fact that applicants who have already participated in previous editions of the Graduate Study Programme will not be able to apply again.

  • Students interested in participating in the 2021 UN Geneva Graduate Study Programme must submit their application online.
  • The application form is to be completed on the official website.

Other documents to be provided include

  • Applicant’s passport.
  • Letter of Recommendation (in English or French only) from a university or a governmental authority.
  • Proof of current enrolment (at the time of application) in a master’s degree programme or a postgraduate degree programme.
  • University diplomas obtained.

Deadline: Applications will be accepted until Friday, March 5, 2021. No applications will be accepted after this date.
