The University of Sydney is currently inviting applications for the Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships Scheme in Australia for the 2021/2022 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are awarded to exceptional international students. For a fact, it will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of two nominees. These will be the nominees of the Executive Director, Sydney Future Students and one nominee of the Admissions Office.
Worth of Award
As far as the scholarship goes, four amounts are offered based on your ranking against the selection criteria:
- $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester.
- $20,000 payable for one semester.
- $10,000 payable for one semester.
- $5,000 payable for one semester.
Kindly note that the availability of some amounts may be limited to specified cohorts.
If you want to be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s international scholarships, you must
- be an international student.
- have applied for but not yet commenced a bachelor’s degree or a coursework master’s degree. One that is a CRICOS registered award program usually delivered onshore at the University of Sydney of course.
- receive an unconditional offer of admission by the relevant close date.
How to Apply
It would interest you to know that no application is required. That is to say that all eligible students who have secured an unconditional offer of admission by the stated dates, will be automatically considered.
Furthermore, with respect to recipients of the Vice-Chancellor’s international scholarships payable in 2 instalments,
i. If you received a VCIS that is split into two payments, the recipient must maintain a minimum semester average mark (SAM) of 65 and have no outstanding fees in order to receive their next payment.
ii. The recipients undertaking an exchange during the tenure of this scholarship are required to have achieved a Satisfied Requirements grade (SR) to receive their next payment.
iii. The scholarship is transferable to another major, degree or faculty but is not transferrable to another university.
In a similar vein, scholarship recipients may be invited to promote the program in which they are enrolled. They may also be invited to represent the university at student orientation, marketing events and corporate networking events.
