The Central European University (CEU) in Budapest invites outstanding and intelligent students who seek financial assistance to complete their masters program to apply for the 2014-2015 CEU Financial Aids for Masters students.
The award is valid for one year and is not transferable if the student defers enrolment. For two-year Master’s programs, the award can be extended for the second year, based on academic performance during the first year, and in accordance with the institutional Financial Aid allocation guidelines. CEU reserves the right to alter the terms of the Financial Aid award and eligibility requirements at any time.
Worth of Awards
- The Full Tuition Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and medical insurance. Recipients should cover their own accommodation, food and personal expenses for the academic year.
- The Partial Tuition Scholarship – 80% covers 80% of tuition costs and full medical coverage. Students must pay 20% of their tuition and cover their own accommodation, food and personal expenses for the academic year.
- The Partial Tuition Scholarship – 70% covers 70% of tuition costs and full medical coverage. Students must pay 30% of their tuition and cover their own accommodation, food and personal expenses for the academic year.
- The Partial Tuition Scholarship – 60% covers 60% of tuition costs and full medical coverage. Students must pay 30% of their tuition and cover their own accommodation, food and personal expenses for the academic year.
- The Partial Tuition Scholarship – 50% covers 50% of tuition costs and full medical coverage. Students must pay 50% of their tuition and cover their own accommodation, food and personal expenses for the academic year.
Eligibility
- Applicants must have a first degree from a recognized university or institution of higher education, or provide documentation indicating that they will earn such a first degree before enrolment in a CEU Master’s program.
- For its one-year US accredited Master’s programs, CEU normally accepts students who have completed four years of undergraduate university study. Applicants with a three-year Bachelor’s degree will be considered for two-year Master’s programs (both for those accredited in the US and in Hungary).
Admission into the US accredited one-year programs with a three-year Bachelor’s degree will also be possible for suitable candidates

- All application materials must be submitted with the online application form (with the exception of letters of recommendation, which may be mailed if recommenders are unable to complete them online). Materials sent by postal mail, email or fax will not be considered. If you have any questions or issues regarding the application form, please refer to the CEU Online Application Form FAQ or the support pages on the Embark online application system.
- You may apply to two departments simultaneously and to any number of degree programs within each department. You must submit a separate application for each program you wish to be considered for, whether delivered by one or more departments.
- CEU charges an application fee of 40 USD.
- Please send your application only when it is 100% final and complete. Applications cannot be edited or altered after submission.

- CEU does not return application documents, or provide copies thereof under any circumstances.
- Non-degree candidates should submit the application form and documents required for non-degree and visiting students.
Application Fee:
- CEU charges an application fee of 40 USD for each applicant, which allows them to be considered for up to 2 departments and for any number of programs within each department in one admission cycle.
- The application fee is non-refundable and will not be waived: all applicants are subject to submit this fee regardless of nationality or financial circumstances.
- The fee must be paid when the first application is submitted in an admission cycle.
- Language Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English by submitting standardized English language test scores, e.g., the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or other substitute tests listed below.
