Lund University in Sweden is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral fellowship in Innovation Studies from the Department of Business Administration in 2020.
They are seeking a highly motivated researcher in Innovation Studies, with a specialization in international companies. The candidate should also be familiar with quantitative methods and large-scale datasets.
The postdoctoral candidate will work within the research program “Sweden’s position in global value chains”, a project coordinated by CIRCLE. The aim of the project is to illustrate the integration of the Swedish innovation system into global research and innovation networks. The project’s research activities are aimed at analyzing specific channels through which multinational companies contribute to the development of innovative capacity in their host countries. This includes spin-offs from multinational companies, acquisition patterns for tech companies, and the ability to attract international expertise.
The position also involves time for independent work and possible involvement in other projects at CIRCLE and at the School of Economics and Management. The postdoc will be employed by the Department of Business Administration and will also have an affiliation to CIRCLE. This will enrich the possibilities for collaborations and interactions with researchers of both institutes. Teaching may be added up to maximum 20% of the working time; typically, no teaching is expected during the first year of appointment.
As a postdoctoral fellow, the main task is to conduct research. Teaching may be included in the duties, but not more than one fifth of the working time. Within the framework of the employment, three weeks of higher education pedagogical education will be offered.

- Education at undergraduate level, advanced level and postgraduate level
- Supervision of students and doctoral students
- Writing research applications
- Collaboration with business and society
- Administration linked to the above tasks
Worth of Award
- This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of a maximum of 2 years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor” (“Agreement on fixed-term employment as a post-doctoral fellow”) between Lund University, SACO-S, OFR/S and SEKO, dated 4 September 2008.

Eligibility
- Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position, completed no more than three years before the last date for applications.
- Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree may have been completed earlier.
Other requirements:
- Documented experience of publishing in the field of innovation studies
- Good skills in econometrics and ability to work with large firm-level and/or individual-level datasets.
- Strong English language skills (verbal and written).

- The assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers.
- The applicant’s scientific ability in the subject area, especially research on international companies and innovation dynamics in multinational companies, will be of particular importance.
