The Department of History and Welsh History, Aberystwyth University in the UK has announced the call for applications for three new PhD studentships for 2013, under the university’s DCDS (Doctoral Career Development Scholarship) scheme.
The DCDS awards offer a package of research, training and career development for full-time PhD students, tailored to enable students to enhance their research, teaching and transferable skills.
Worth of Awards
The Department is offering up to three awards under the DCDS scheme. These awards will cover full tuition fees for the three years of the PhD for UK/EU students, and a contribution of up to £3900 pa. for non UK/EU students.
Eligibility
Students receiving awards will make an agreed contribution to the Department as a condition of the PhD scholarship (for instance, teaching, research, editorial work, placements, or other appropriate personal development opportunities).
To be eligible you must:
- have at least an upper second class honours in your first degree, and be studying for or have completed a Masters degree in an appropriate subject area
- apply and be offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth
- achievement of 7.0 in IELTS, or equivalent, as the normal case, for non-UK students (before the end of March 2013 at the latest)
- be commencing your doctoral study in September 2013
