NED Reagan Fascell Fellowship Programme for Africans in USA 2020

The National Endowment for Democracy invites applications for the 2019/2020 Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellows Programme. Worth of Award: Each fellow receives a monthly stipend for living expenses, plus health insurance and reimbursement for travel to and from Washington, D.C., at the beginning and end of the fellowship period. Knight Visiting Nieman Fellowships at Havard University in USA 2019

Harvard University in the USA in collaboration with the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation is inviting applications for the Knight Visiting Nieman Fellowships 2019. Worth of Award: For fellows not supported by an employer during the fellowship, a stipend of $1,350 per week will be provided. If an employer keeps the fellow on salary during the fellowship because the project benefits the organization, a fellowship stipend will not be provided. If a fellow does not reside in the Boston area or otherwise have accommodations, free use of a furnished one-bedroom apartment will be available for the length of the fellowship. USD 50,000 UNESCO Avicenna Prize for Ethics in Science in Europe 2019

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO is inviting applications for the UNESCO Avicenna Prize for Ethics in Science in Europe 2019. Worth of Award: The Prize consists of a gold medal of Avicenna along with a certificate, the sum of USD 50,000. A one-week academic visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is to include the delivery of speeches in the relevant academic gatherings, organized for this purpose by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Fully Funded TED Fellows Programme to attend TED2020 Conference in Canada 2020

TED invites applications from media entrepreneurs, human rights activists and photographers for the TED Fellows programme in 2020. Worth of Award: Twenty fellows will be selected to attend the TED2020 conference to be held April 20 to 24, 2020. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend pre-conference programs with training by speakers. Fondation Carmignac in France offers the Carmignac Photojournalism Award, dedicated to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and to the human, social and ecological challenges it faces today in 2019. Worth of Award: Selected by an international jury, the laureate will receive a €50,000 grant to carry out a 6-month field report with the support of the Fondation Carmignac, which produces, upon their return, a travelling exhibition and the publication of a monograph. The Getty foundation in the USA is accepting applications for the scholar grants in 2020. Worth of Award: Three-month residency: September to December, January to April, April to June: $17,200, Six-month residency: September to April, January to June: $42,000, Nine-month residency: September to June: $65,000, The grant also includes an office at the Getty Research Institute or the Getty Villa, an apartment in the Getty scholar housing complex, airfare to and from Los Angeles, and available healthcare option. 50,000 USD MAN Impact Accelerator Programme in Germany 2019

The MAN Impact Accelerator in Europe and India is open to social entrepreneurs from Europe, South Africa and India together to tackle social and environmental challenges starting tentatively in 2019. Worth of Award:  Travel and accommodation costs are covered by MAN Truck & Bus. The program provides an indirect grant and support of up to 50,000 USD for each startup (no equity or cash). The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is inviting applications for its 2020 Leadership Fellowship Program for Africans. The Mo Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships form a selective programme designed to identify and support future African leaders. The fellowship seeks to deepen and broaden its growing network which continues to contribute its skills and learning to a better Africa.
