The National Geographic and Sky Ocean Ventures accept applications for the Ocean Plastic Innovation Challenge Programme on a competitive basis in the US in 2019. Worth of Award: Teams will compete for aggregate prize purses of up to $500,000, and Qualified participating teams may have the opportunity to receive a minimum of $1 million in aggregate investment from Sky Ocean Ventures. The National Center on Disability and Journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in the USA is accepting entries for the 2019 Katherine Schneider Journalism Award for Excellence in Reporting on Disability. Worth of Award: Winners will receive a total of $17,000 in cash awards for first-, second- and third-place finishes in large media and small media categories. First-place winners in each category will be awarded $5,000 and are invited to the Cronkite School to give a public lecture in fall 2019. Worth of Award: In each category, there are now two awards: Gold, with a prize of $5,000, and Silver, with a prize of $3,500. The awards are presented each year at the AAAS Annual Meeting in February.
