Bournemouth University in the UK invites applications for the BU Music scholarships open to any UK, EU or international applicants applying for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at BU for 2018/2019 academic year.
For courses starting in September 2018 or January 2019. Scholarships cannot be deferred.
If you’re passionate about music and want to continue to develop your talents while you’re studying for your degree, their BU Music scholarships are here to support you. Some of the money you’re awarded will go towards regular music lessons for your main instrument or voice with one of the university’s tutors, but you can use the remainder to see your favourite artists in concert, buy new music for your collection or even to pick up a new outfit to wear on stage – whatever fuels your musical passion.
Worth of Award
- £1,150 (major award) or £450 (minor award)
- Scholarships are reviewed on a regular basis and the university reserves the right to withdraw, amend or introduce new scholarships at any time. Scholarships are offered subject to funding and availability. Scholarship is awarded in your first year only, unless stated otherwise.
Eligibility
- Any UK, EU or international applicant applying for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at BU
- You must be able to demonstrate that you are a talented musician or vocalist and that you have been involved in ensemble activity.
How to Apply
As part of your application, you will need to source two references. Referees can include your Director of Music, music teacher, instrumental/vocal coach, ensemble conductor etc, or any other person qualified to write about your musical abilities. They need to complete and submit the online reference form.
Deadline: applications close 31 August if your course starts in September and 30 November if your course starts in January. Late applications may be considered if there are funds remaining
