The Mahidol University Thailand invites applications for the 2019 Mahidol Scholarship Programme, with more than 50 full scholarships and 450 partial scholarships for qualified candidates to study at Mahidol University.

The Mahidol University, an autonomous research institution in Thailand, had its origin in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888.Scholarship can be taken in Thailand for masters and doctoral programme in the field of Science and Technology, Medical Science, Public Health, Social sciences, Humanities, and Liberal Arts, Linguistics, Culture, and Education and Environment and Natural Resource.

Worth of Award

  • Type I Full scholarships: This scholarship will cover all the fee according to the requirement of the program and living allowance. The living allowance will be 10,000 Bath/month for a maximum of 36 months for Doctoral program, and 10,000 Bath/month for a maximum of 24 months for Master’s program. The total of 50 full scholarships (for Master’s and Doctoral degrees) will be available for the academic year 2019.
  • Type II Partial scholarships: This scholarship will cover partial study fee but not the living allowance. The total of 150 partial scholarships will be available for the academic year 2019. Details of each partial scholarship categories are as follows:
  • Partial Scholarship Type I: This scholarship will cover all the fee according to the requirement of the program. The living allowance will not be included.
  • Partial Scholarship Type II: This scholarship will cover 50% of the study fee according to the requirement of the program. The living allowance will not be included.
  • Partial Scholarship Type III: The study fee of this type of scholarship will be granted at the same rate as Thai student. The living allowance will not be included.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be international students who have been accepted to pursue their master’s or doctoral degrees at Mahidol University in the academic year 2019.

Scholarships for Master’s Students

An applicant must:

  • hold a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.25
  •  submit either one of the following English proficiency test scores: IELTS academic module with a score of 5 or higher; TOEFL iBT with a score of 54 or higher;TOEFL ITP (Mahidol University) with a score of 480 or higher; MU GRAD TEST with a score of 60 or higher.

Scholarships for Doctoral Students

An applicant must:

  • hold a master’s degree with a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.50
  • (special consideration wilt be given to applicants who have publications in internationally-recognized academic journals. Evidence of publications must be submitted with the application.)
  • submit either one of the following English proficiency test scores: IELTS academic module with a score of 5 or higher; TOEFL iBT with a score of 61 or higher;TOEFL ITP (Mahidol University) with a score of 500 or higher.

How to Apply

  • Candidates are to apply for the scholarship through Mahidot University online admission system together with the program application 
  • The Program Committee will select and submit the names of qualified candidates to the Faculty of Graduate studies for the final selection and approval process
