Cambridge University, UK is now accepting applications for various scholarships open to African students for the 2018-2019 academic session. This year, many of the scholarships open to Africans are fully-funded, covering tuition fees, and living expenses.

Some scholarships are specifically for African students who apply to the MSc and other development related courses in the University. You must submit your application by the relevant January deadline to be considered for the scholarships.

Smuts Cambridge Scholarship International Students in UK, 2018

Cambridge University is inviting prospective graduate students to apply for the Smuts Cambridge Scholarship for the 2018/2019 academic session. The funding partner is Smuts Memorial fund.

The Fund supports several posts and grants within the University, including the Smuts Cambridge Scholarship in association with the Cambridge Trust; the scholarship is available to PhD students whose research relates to a Commonwealth country or countries (excluding the UK), normally in the fields of Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences. Fully-funded Gates Cambridge Scholarship for International Students 2018/2019

The 2018/2019 Gates Cambridge Scholarship is now open for applications from international students who want to pursue a graduate degree at Cambridge University in the UK. The scholarships are a prestigious, highly competitive full-cost financial aid grants awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.  

Up to 40 Gates Cambridge Scholarships are awarded to US students and up to 55 scholarships are awarded to international students. A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. It also provides additional, discretionary funding.

Cambridge Toshiba Japan and the World Graduate Scholarship in UK, 2018

Cambridge University, UK is inviting prospective graduate students to apply for the Cambridge Toshiba Japan and the World Graduate Scholarship for 2018/2019 academic session. The funding partner is the Toshiba International Foundation.

In 2018 the Foundation, in conjunction with the Cambridge Trust, is offering the Cambridge Toshiba Japan and the World Graduate Scholarship, for a PhD applicant to the Faculty of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies whose research aims to place Japan within the wider context of the world, either in its multilateral focus or through its disciplinary impact.

The scholarship will cover the annual University Composition (tuition) Fee and an annual stipend to cover living costs of the individual scholarship recipient.

Mountbatten Cambridge International Scholarship for Developing Countries, 2018

Cambridge University is inviting prospective PhD candidates to apply for the fully-funded Mountbatten Cambridge International Scholarship for the 2018/2019 academic session at Christ’s College, Cambridge University. The funding partners are Christ’s College and Sir Ernest Cassel Educational Trust.

Cambridge University is inviting prospective Masters candidates to apply for the Santander Cambridge Scholarship for International Students for the 2018/2019 academic session.

This scholarship is available to Masters applicants from any country, although priority will be given to applicants from members of the network of Santander Universities.

Cambridge university invites applications for the October 2018 Gates Cambridge Scholarships for students worldwide, tenable at the university.

Gates Cambridge Scholars are expected to be academically outstanding with the ability to make a significant contribution to their discipline while in Cambridge. At the start of the application process, potential Scholars are ranked by the department they are applying to. Only the most outstanding candidates are considered further.

 A Gates Cambridge Scholarship covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge. It also provides additional, discretionary funding.

Deadline: Round 1: US citizens normally resident in the USA only: Applicants in this round must apply by 11 October 2017 for entry in October 2018. The University of Cambridge invites applications from South African students for Mandela Magdalene College Scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic session to pursue one-year taught postgraduate courses in subjects relevant to the needs of South Africa.

The scholarships cover: University Composition Fee at the overseas rate, a maintenance allowance sufficient for a single student, Rented accommodation in or near College will normally be made available to a single Scholar. The college does not currently have any family accommodation available.
