Cambridge University is inviting prospective graduate students to apply for the fully-funded MOHE Egypt Cambridge Scholarship for the 2018/2019 academic session. This scholarship is available to Egyptian applicants who plan to take a PhD in any subject

The Ministry of Higher Education is one of the governmental bodies of Egypt, based in Cairo.  Its major function is to develop, implement and monitor all the country’s policies relating to Higher Education; it is responsible for the educational activities of Egyptian universities, both public and private.

From the academic year 2017-18 the Ministry, represented by the Egyptian Bureau for Cultural and Educational Affairs in London, is working with the Cambridge Trust to offer the MOHE Egypt Cambridge Scholarships, for PhD students in any subject.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in partnership with the Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust (CCEIT), is offering Egyptian students an opportunity to take a research degree (PhD) at the University of Cambridge in the UK.

Worth of Award

  • University tuition fee
  • Annual stipend (sufficient for a single person)
  • Travel between Egypt and the UK at the beginning and end of the scholarship

Eligibility

  • You are eligible to apply if  you are normally resident in Egypt
  • you are currently working in a public university or research institute in Egypt, and are eligible for an MOHE full scholarship
  • you apply to take a PhD (in any subject) at the University of Cambridge (starting your research there in October 2017) and are offered admission
  • You are normally resident in Egypt
  • At the time of applying, candidates should be working in a public university or research institute in Egypt, and be eligible to receive an MOHE Full Scholarship.

  • Final selection of scholars will be made jointly by MOHE and CCEIT, and a maximum of five scholarships will be awarded.

Deadline: If you are applying for graduate study, please check and apply by the specific course deadline.  Some deadlines are as early as mid-November (LLM Law) and there will be two general course deadlines of 6 December 2017 and 4 January 2018.
