The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is inviting applications for its 2021 Leadership Fellowship Program for Africans in Cote d’Ivoire in 2023
Fellowships are open to young professionals, mid-career and new executives from Africa with relevant work experience and a master’s degree. It seeks to deepen and broaden its growing network which continues to contribute its skills and learning to a better Africa.
Established in 2006, the Mo Ibrahim Foundation aims to support good governance and great leadership in Africa. The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is financing the Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship position in the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships form a selective programme designed to mentor future African leaders. The Fellows receive mentoring from the current leaders of the AfDB, a multilateral development bank that contributes to poverty reduction through supporting sustainable development and social progress in its regional member countries. Through this annual fellowship programme, it seeks to deepen and broaden its growing network which continues to contribute its skills and learning to a better Africa.
Worth of Award
- Each year three Fellows have an opportunity to work in the executive offices of the AfDB (Abidjan), ECA (Addis Ababa), or the ITC (Geneva).
- They will receive a stipend of $100,000.
- During their 12-month programmes, Fellows gain both technical and leadership skills, while contributing directly to research and policy design.
- A special feature of the programme is the opportunity to benefit from the direct mentorship of the heads of the host organizations.
- Fellows also become members of the Now Generation Network (NGN), through which they continue to contribute their skills and insights to building a better Africa.
Eligibility
The Fellow must
- be a national of an African country
- have a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience
- possess a Master’s degree
- be under the age of 40 or 45 for women with children
- provide any additional criteria as set by the host
