The Lancaster University offers Faculty Research Scholarships at the Department of Linguistics and English Language for full- and part-time students non-Home/EU students.
Lancaster University, also officially known as the University of Lancaster, is a public research university in Lancaster, Lancashire, England.
Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide a valid English language test certificate such as IELTS, Pearson Test of English, Academic, (PTE) or Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE).
Scholarships are available for pursuing a research programme in the Department of Linguistics and English Language.
Worth of Award
The bursary takes the form of a fee waiver for the duration of an individual’s PhD studies. This bursary is open to full- and part-time students, and is limited to non-Home/EU students.
The scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. Candidates for a scholarship will be ranked based on the following criteria in order of priority:
- Potential for an original contribution.
- Evidence of scholarly ability:
Clear and concise description of the study
Awareness of current literature in the field
Understanding of research methodology appropriates for an early-stage postgraduate student
A research project that can be completed within the timeframe allowed for a PhD
