The 300-level students of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Jos are now to undergo six months industrial attachment just like their counterparts in other departments.
The Head of Department, Dr. Sarah Lwahas made this known during the general congress of the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOMS), the department’s students body, stating that an agreement to that effect has been reached between the department, the school authority and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).
The development is in line with the new curriculum being implemented by the department.
Dr. Lwahas also used the occasion to appeal to students to make more use of the department’s library as efforts are being put in place to enrich the shelves with more books and other educational materials.
She encouraged those interested in serving as librarians to apply to fill the vacancy soon to be created by the graduating students.
Officials of the association later entertained questions from members and the congress resolved that the constitution of the association would soon be amended.
